I am Matthew Siegel, and I am Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of Indaba Music. Indaba is the marketplace for music creation online – where musicians around the world create new content for use by brands, labels, publishers, and others. My interest in digital media and music began when Dan Zaccagnino and I started a non-profit record label at Harvard, and from there, all sorts of ambitious ideas for changing the music business eventually led to Indaba.
At Indaba, I manage marketing, content and programming, finance, and business operations. I was named one of Billboard’s “30 Under 30 Power Players” of the music industry in 2010. I graduated cum laude from Harvard in 2005 with an AB in Economics, and before founding Indaba I was a management consultant with Katzenbach Partners, LLC (now Booz & Co.) working primarily with software and telecommunications clients.
I am engaged to Sara Friedlander (check out our wedding website!), the most wonderful Post-War and Contemporary art specialist and deal-maker Christie’s has to offer. Our dog Maggie is the most wonderful dog in the West Village.
